Questions, answered
What is kasa?
kasa is a free tool from Lewis.io that matches home buyers to down-payment and closing-cost assistance programs — grants, forgivable loans, and deferred loans — in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Florida, before matching them to a lender.
How much down payment assistance can I get?
It depends on where you're buying and your situation. Programs in our catalog range from $5,000 matched-savings grants to $35,000 deferred loans (Florida Hometown Heroes). Philadelphia's Philly First Home offers up to $10,000; Pennsylvania's K-FIT forgives 5% of the purchase price over 10 years.
Do I need perfect credit to qualify for a home-buyer grant?
No. Many programs work from a 620 credit score, and some city grants have no stated floor. The quiz asks for your credit band — a self-reported guess — and factors it in. kasa never pulls your credit.
Why check grants before choosing a lender?
Because not every lender participates in every program. Choosing a lender first can silently disqualify you from money you were eligible for. kasa identifies your program pathway first, so you can pick a lender who actually works with it.
Is kasa really free?
Yes. kasa is free for buyers. Lewis.io is a real-estate team — if the results are useful, we'd love to be your agents. That's the whole model.
kasa provides estimates based on published program guidelines and your self-reported answers. It is not a loan application, approval, or offer of credit. Final eligibility is determined by each program administrator and your lender. Program funding can pause or change; each result shows its last-verified date.
